The Youth Sounding Board (YSB) is a youth-led initiative supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Tanzania to ensure meaningful engagement of young people in shaping the Embassy’s strategic priorities. The platform empowers youth to contribute their perspectives, influence decision-making, and guide programs and policies to be more inclusive and impactful.
Aligned with the Embassy’s 2021–24 Development and Cooperation Strategy, the YSB focuses on placing youth at the center of development, addressing marginalization, and fostering positive social, economic, and civic change. The initiative recognizes Tanzania’s large and growing youth population as a key opportunity to harness the Demographic Dividend and strengthen national development.
The mandate of the YSB is to gather youth perspectives to inform the next SDC Cooperation Programme (2026–2030) and advise on approaches to strengthen youth participation in electoral processes.
