SHIRIKI TUJENGE TANGA YETU

Through active participation in governance. The Shiriki Tujenge Tanga Yetu project equips youth with practical knowledge and leadership skills to strengthen civic engagement and accountability at the local level.

Through this initiative, Youth Accountability Advocates (YAAs) are trained to educate their peers about civic rights and responsibilities, lead community dialogues, and collaborate with local authorities to ensure that young people’s perspectives influence key decisions.

The project supports youth to develop critical thinking, data literacy, and community organizing skills enabling them to identify issues, propose solutions, and track the progress of local development efforts. By doing so, young people are becoming catalysts for transparency, inclusion, and responsive governance in Tanga.

The Tanga Yetu programme is funded by Fondation Botnarmanaged by INNOVEX, and implemented in collaboration with the Tanga City Council.
