Technical and Vocational Education and Training and Higher Education

Offering young people prospects for economic participation.

Restless Development is partnering with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) to harness the opinions, ideas, insights and lived experiences of a diverse group of young people in Uganda.

The programme aims to contribute to Sustainable Development Goal 4 ‘Quality Education’ by strengthening local Technical and Vocational Education and Training and Higher Education (TVET/HE) systems in countries of focus regions.

The research will also focus on identifying which TVET and HE systems could be improved and what young people value and need to gain from their education.

TVET/HE Research aims to:

  • Gain youth insights into TVET/ HE landscape and activities in MFA focus countries.
  • Promote inclusive, equal and quality TVET/ HE provision to young people and women.
  • Empower eight young researchers with additional key research skills.

Eight young researchers, two from each of the four focus countries; Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Egypt and Tunisia will be participating in the research.
